The Admissibility of Digital Evidence in Criminal Prosecutions Jonathan W. Hak Crown Prosecutor Department of Justice Alberta, Canada Introduction Advances in technology have led to the use of various digital techniques in the presentation of evidence to the courts. In some cases, digital techniques have allowed the court to gain more valuable information from evidence than would otherwise have been evident. In other cases, it has allowed the court to receive evidence that it would not have been able to receive without the assistance of digital technology.
